Who is Tom?

Since December 2022, I have been part of the Uniglobe Axon Travel Team, thanks to the Axon Academy. This academy was started in late 2022 with the aim of training new colleagues and gaining the necessary knowledge and experience through on-the-job training. This is an opportunity I've grabbed with both hands, and my years of experience in the hotel sector certainly came in handy.

What makes me happy is the company of friends and family. Enjoying good food and a nice glass of champagne, whether at a restaurant, at home, or while traveling. By the way, champagne is one of my passions. I collect Champagne capsules, a hobby that started as a result of the Champagne trip we took with the hotel school.

In addition, together with my partner Stijn, I try to make several trips and city trips at home and abroad. Last year we made a very nice round trip through Portugal as well as a city trip to Naples. I'm already looking forward to the next trip!

What is your most memorable trip?

I have had the opportunity to travel a lot, but one of the best trips so far was Malta. This was a last-minute idea, and I left on my own without much planning. I desperately needed some sun, sea and the beach! To this day, I have not regretted this impulsive trip.

I stayed in St.Julian at the Intercontinental hotel, which is ideally located. Every other day I had something planned; a day exploring the island with a Jeep, a day at the pool or beach, a boot trip around the islands, a visit to Comino and Gozo,... I got to enjoy delicious food and meeting new people every day. I still smile when I look back on it.

Which quote would best describe you?

Live your life to the fullest, enjoy every moment, you never know when it’s too late to shine!

What is still on your bucket-list?

There are still many locations I wish to visit, but if there is one trip I would do again, it would be a tour of South Africa. My roots are there. I was born in Johannesburg and have yet to return to this lovely country to see where I (and especially my parents) have lived.
